June 08, 2007
In addition to today’s Internet Marketing Monitor coverage, we felt these stories were worth pulling out of the multitude of news items for June 08, 2007:
I’ve been following Yahoo!’s newspaper consortium pretty closely. Why? Because there’s the potential for this to turn into more than just a deal with a bunch of newspapers. Yahoo! is in a position to really work this situation to their advantage… if they execute things properly. I have a couple of theories and possible outcomes… but I’ll save those for a post all their own.
If you asked most writers what their most frustrating experiences might be, I bet you’d get two answers most often: writer’s block and “thought block” (not being able to put your thoughts into words that other humans can understand). Copyblogger has some good suggestions here (although I’m not sure they’re all really “instant”). A couple of others that I’ve found helpful are:
Google made what they described as a “minor” update to landing page quality scores and told SERoudtable that most advertisers wouldn’t not a change. Still… it didn’t take long to uncover a couple of threads with people talking about campaigns going form “Great” to “Poor” over night with increases in bid amounts to match. Have you noticed any changes in your quality scores? I can’t believe another weekend has arrived. Ask.com was the big news maker this week with the launch of Ask 3D. eBay decided to challenge Google to a radio advertising auction war while privacy groups pushed harder for the FTC to step in and regulate Big G. For a week with relatively little news quantity-wise, there sure was some big stuff going down. Hopefully next week will be just as exciting! We’ll see you Monday morning!
