About a week ago I logged into my AdWords account and noticed a prominent message box at the top of the page. Google was offering me $400 in AdWords credit if I’d make a Video Ad. It’s nothing new, really. Google has offered $400 for Audio Ads and is currently offering $1000 for Print Ads. But with the roll-out of similar incentives for the creation of video ads I expect to see more of them popping up in AdSense during the coming weeks (I’m sure it takes a few weeks to create a video ad). Video Ads have slowly been increasing in number throughout the AdSense network… but I guess it’s just not fast enough. Another possible motivation for the incentive could be YouTube. Maybe Google is trying to build a catalog of video ads for YouTube. It would be a nice way to kill two birds with one stone: more video ads for AdSense… and an opening round of ads for YouTube. - Matt
