With all of the attention focused on mobile advertising, it's no wonder you don't hear much about mobile content. While everyone is scrambling to get their ads onto cell phone, they sometimes forget that once the ads are viewed and clicked on, there has to be some sort of content for the mobile user to see. Have you ever looked at your website through the eyes of a mobile device? The Official Google Blog has a post on using Google's web transcoder to ease web browsing for the blind. And while it has helped the blind generate pages better suited for vocal transcription, the transcoder's original purpose was to create pages viewable by mobile devices. This makes it an excellent testing tool for website owners to preview what users will see when browsing their sites with cell phones and other mobile devices. Many website owners have created mobile-specific versions of their websites. Granted… not every website is well-suited to mobilization. Indeed, some websites probably rarely get mobile browsers anyway. But you plan on utilizing mobile advertising or having mobile users, it could be extremely beneficial to have a mobile optimized or mobile version of your website. Don't let the mobile advertising push make your content lag behind. The transcoder can help you view your efforts and make appropriate revisions. Remember… test, test, and test again!
