One of the most common reasons people turn to the internet is to find answers. Many times they end up at search engines looking for those answers. Attempts have been made to make search engines understand natural human speech, but with little avail. In response, Yahoo (and others) created sites like Yahoo! Answers. Yahoo Answers offers a place for people to ask questions and get answers from other Yahoo users. On Wednesday, Yahoo announced that it was integrated it's Yahoo! Answers results into it's popular search engine. With millions of answered questions on thousands of topics, there's a lot of information available at Yahoo! Answers. The problem is, most people don't know or think about services like Answers when they're looking for information. They go straight to the search box. Yahoo is addressing that usability fault by adding top Yahoo Anwsers to the bottom of its search results. Search for almost anything and you'll find three responses from Yahoo Answers at the bottom of the search page (they're denoted by person-looking avatars). If you get a lot of questions from your customers, this could be an excellent opportunity to educate your user base about your product. Check existing questions and answers and update or add to what's there. Make sure if someone does a search for you or your product a relevant answer is available to them Q: "What is internet marketing?" Ok… maybe it shouldn't be that obvious.
