When I decided to include a list of conferences and shows here at the Internet Marketing Monitor, I knew the value that those events could offer attendees and participants.  As I said before, "those in the know go" to industry talks and conferences.  It doesn't matter what your business is, be it online in nature, brick and mortar, or a combination of both.

Those in the personal beauty industry were able to attend just such an event when the Google Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) team hosted its first Beauty Day Summit.  According to the CPG Blog, over 50 marketers of beauty products and their partners attended the event in New York City, which focused on changes in the industry and changes in marketing approaches.

Topics of discussion ranged from ways to get consumers more active in their consumption of marketing messages to panel discussions on beauty itself and the use of online beauty tools and services.  The presentations were followed by online blog and review searching and industry networking.  Google also had plenty of demonstrations on hand to allow marketers and attendees the chance to experience some of it's product in an industry-specific setting.

If you missed this summit or aren't in the beauty industry, dry those eyes (and try not to smudge your mascara).  Google plans on holding similar events with other industry-specific themes, so keep an eye out for announcements.  In addition, other companies and organizations hold similar events all across the country.  A good place to start looking for a show near you might be the Conference and Show listing here or local trade organizations.

Those in attendance at Google's Summit know the beauty of industry collaboration and events… do you?
