You've probably heard so much about search engine optimization that just the phrase alone makes your eyes roll.  Everyone's saying the same thing over and over again.  Well here at the Internet Marketing Monitor, we care about the health of your eyes.  That's why we're trying our hardest not to give you the same ol' same ol' SEO tips… ya know… so you can avoid the eye roll.

Penny Crosman has three suggestions for ways to improve your site's organic search results ranking:

  1. Don't Forget the Press Releases:  If your company issues press releases, they should be optimized for search engine placement, too.  Crosman offers two suggestions to help companies accomplish that goal.  PRWeb offers a service whereby press releases are analyzed and edited to maximize anticipated keyword search strings.  PR Newswire offers keyword tracking and analytics to show its customers what people searched for to find them and if any links in the press release were followed.
  2. List Products in Froogle:  Crosman says the free listings in Froogle bring "surprisingly high-ranking results".
  3. Get Into the Community Swing:  This can include writing a blog or participating in an existing community-based project.  An added benefit of blogging is syndication through RSS and news feeds.  Syndication builds traffic.  Crosman even reports that social-networking site MySpace sends more shoppers to website than MSN.

So you might have heard about the benefits of blogging a few times.  But Froogle is an often overlooked part of Google's service offerings and press releases aren't always considered top priority over content.

I thought these three suggestions were great reminders for ideas that most of us probably know about, but few of us ever do.
