Adding to the tools it already offers businesses that have yet to make the jump to the online world, Google announced yesterday that it had added a new feature to its AdWords program specifically for those without an online presence. The new feature, called hosted business pages, is available as a free service for new AdWords Starter Edition accounts. Using hosted business pages, companies without websites can create AdWords ads that point to these hosted pages. The hosted pages do not exist on their own domain, but they do serve as landing pages for AdWords ads and require no HTML or coding sills to create. The pages can contain contact information, company information, and images. Hosted business pages are only accessible by clicking through the AdWords ad and are not browsable directly. I think this is a great idea. It could open up a lot more opportunities for offline companies to get a taste of online advertising. Not only that, but it could also be the catalyst for many small companies to open full-fledged websites. With this new feature, AdWords is available to any company, regardless of size or internet status.
