Back in early November I touched on Google's efforts to bring their simple, effective form of search and online advertising to radio stations. Last week I pointed you to an exclusive look at the platform on ZDnet. But there hadn't been a lot of public information available directly from Google. Until today. The Inside AdWords blog brings an update on the service (complete with a screenshot) and news that a limited beta program was recently put in place with selected AdWords users. A member of Audio Ads team told Inside AdWords that the integration of dMarc Broadcasting's technology into the Google platform was complete. In addition, the Audio Ads service will allow advertisers to customize the location, station format, week day, and time of day that their ads are played. The AdWords interface will incorporate tracking displays that show exactly when and where an ad was played. Google hasn't set a firm date for the full roll out of the service but says to monitor Inside AdWords for future updates. I'll be monitoring and will let you know as soon as we hear something more.
