As promised on Tuesday, yesterday saw the release of the second part of MarketingSherpa's exhaustive look at writing and publishing successful white papers. Part one was a fairly complete examination of 28 secrets and tips on writing a white paper. One of those tips involves getting your paper syndicated in one of a number of syndication services. Part two of the series is a careful review of a dozen of those syndication services. MarketingSherpa asked these syndication services a number of questions about the services they offer, the techniques they use, and the cost of those services. The report should be an excellent starting place for people working on getting a white paper published. The syndication services included in the report are:
Michael Stelzner, author of Writing White Papers, also covered the report. Stelzner, who has written white papers for a number of recognized companies, says that CNET, KnowledgeStorm, and TechTarget are currently considered the major syndication services. In addition, he says, WhitePaperSource has conducted extensive reviews of some of the services in MarketingSherpa's report (and some that aren't). So now that you've used the first part of the report to write the perfect white paper, you've got several options for where to have it syndicated. Remember… formless or pre-filled registration forms increase white paper download rates by as much as 80%. This is one of the benefits of using a syndication site for which users have to register. MarketingSherpa is interested in adding to their directory of white paper syndication services. Scroll to the bottom of the report for information on getting your syndication service added to their list.
