Are you taking advantage of Google's offer to pay the transaction fees for purchases made through Google Checkout through 2007?  If so, the announcement on Friday that affiliate tracking is now possible was probably music to your ears.  Just in case you missed it, here are the requisite details:

  • Supported affiliate tracking and analytic tools can be used for sales through the Google Checkout
  • Pixel URLs with parameters can be used and will appear on the Checkout thank you page
  • Placeholders can be used for dynamic data that will be entered before the URL is called

This is big news for any of you using a supported affiliate tracking or analytic tool.  Placeholders can also help you greatly customize the Checkout to better suit your needs.  Tracking and analytics are excellent sources of valuable information about your customers.  This thing just keeps getting better and better!
