AskCity opened last week to a lot of fanfare and anticipation among the online community.  If you're one of the few who haven't heard, AskCity is a new local search service by Ask.com that combines internet search, CitySearch, Evite, and Ticketmaster into one supersite of local information.  Complete with maps and user reviews, AskCity has received a very warm welcome from reviewers and users alike.

To celebrate its first week, the Ask.com Blog has posted links to reviews of the new service as well as several lists of the top search items in several categories.

According to the lists, people are searching for pizza to eat, show times for Madonna performances, and places to get massages.  I have to admit that I laughed out loud when I read Ask.com's take on the Top 10 Services search:

Hospitals, churches, police departments and attorneys in the Top Ten? Sounds like you people had a rough week. No wonder you're looking for a good massage.

If you haven't tried the new service yet, point your browser at AskCity.com and give it a whirl.  And if your company or business isn't listed in the CitySearch database from which AskCity pulls from… get it there now.  This is definitely a local search service to keep an eye on.
