Are you still trying to figure out a way to put online video to use for your marketing campaign? The Google Video blog has an excellent example of how a band is using video to hype one of their songs. The band, Good Charlotte, posted their music video to Google Video. They want their fans to watch the video and then create their own version. The band members will select their favorite fan-produced video and the winner will receive a call from the band to discuss the video, a feature spot on GoodCharlotte.com, and a signed guitar. Not too shabby. Remember: the idea here is to get your name into people's head. In this case, it's about getting a song into people's head. But the idea is the same. For little money, Good Charlotte is getting a lot of publicity and folks are thinking about their song. In return, all they have to do is make a phone call, post a video, and sign a guitar. Now if that's not a good ROI, I don't know what is.
