If you're using the Google Custom Search Engine (CSE) to create your own specialty search, today's announcement from the CSE blog will be good news to you.  The CSE team has recently updated the service to include better collaboration tools.  In particular:

  • CSE creators will now be able to see the email addresses of the people working on their search engine
  • CSE creators will see the email addresses of people volunteering to help
  • CSE creators will get email notification when an invitation to contribute is accepted
  • CSE creators will now be able to see a list of the sites added by contributors sorted by contributor

If you haven't given the Google Custom Search Engine a look, point your browser to the blog or homepage and see what you can do with it.  The Google CSE allows you to create a customized search engine that only indexes websites you tell it to.  You can restrict it to your site only or build your own specialty search engine that searches multiple websites.
