Just wanted to give you a quick update on another story we followed earlier in the week (and mentioned today, ironically enough):

On Tuesday I talked about a deal the state of North Carolina was offering Google to entice the company to build its $600 million server farm in their state instead of in South Carolina.

Well, it looks like the deal paid off.  WRAL.com and SEO Buzz Box are both reporting that Google will, in fact, open the facility in North Carolina after all.  The server farm will employee over 200 people and offer salaries at $20,000 over the average for other employers in the county.
