Steve Rubel at Micro Persuasion was able to snag a screenshot of a new Technorati service called WTF before it went offline yesterday.  And as Rubel points out, WTF doesn't stand for what you might be thinking.  Technorati's WTF, or "Where's the Fire" is a Digg-like service that allows visitors to vote on content that they think is hot.  Get it?  Hot… fire?  Yeah.  It's pretty simple I guess.

And even though he also says that Technorati announced the service on Monday at Twitter, and a member of the Technorati staff blogged about it, shortly after Rubel's post went live, Technorati pulled the service.

According to Dorian Caroll's post about WTF, a fire icon will appear next to popular content inside Technorati searches to make it easier for fellow bloggers to see what's popular in the blogosphere.

It should be interesting to see 1) if this service pops back up and 2) what kind of impact, if any, that it will have Digg.
