If local search is your forte, it's definitely going to be your lucky week.  Michael Gray, aka Graywolf, has deemed the week of February 4 - 9 as local search week.  Gray has lined up 20 interviews for the week with a number of professionals in the industry.  Today's list includes Aaron Wall (SEOBook & Threadwatch), Dean Bloomfield, Bill Slawski (SEO by the Sea), and Scott Smith.

Gray also promises some additional local search goodness:

I’ve also got some nice local search resources and a few surprises as well.

Bookmark / subscribe to his interview schedule (which includes links to each interview as they are posted) and check back during the week.  I think there's bound to be a lot of great information covered in the series.  For example:

  • Gray spoke to Aaron Wall about trust rankings and local search, "link equity", ways that service businesses can use the web to increase conversions, and future predictions on local search (and search in general).
  • He spoke to Dean Bloomfield about what it takes to get local search right, the long tail of local search, mistakes to avoid when going local, and the youth effect on local search.
  • Slawski spoke about the differences between local and global search, Google's local search patents, local search from the perspective of the search engines, and the future of local & mobile search.
  • And finally, Smith's interview focuses on the opportunities for marketers in the local search arena, big business in local search, the financial sector's interest in local search, and hurdles small businesses must overcome to get into search.
