I usually like it when new features are added to products that I use.  I usually love it when features that I've specifically requested are added.  Such was my feeling this morning when I read an announcement on the Official Google Reader Blog about a new feature that I've been really looking forward to:  subscriber tracking.

One of the problems with the rising popularity of the Google Reader is that, until now, the number of people subscribed to your feed with Google Reader weren't being reported.  As the announcement points out, Google has feed-reading services and products all over the place.  So getting all of the numbers together was like "herding cats". In a couple of days the numbers should start being reflected in feed analytics products and I'm very excited.

Thanks, Google Reader team!
