In addition to today's Internet Marketing Monitor coverage, we felt these stories were worth pulling out of the multitude of news items for April 6, 2007:
Are we really surprised by this? Google's position on censorship, most notably in China, has been a topic of debate since day one. But now it looks like a group of shareholders are trying to force a discussion on the topic by leveraging their nearly 500,000 share position in the company. This will certainly be one to follow as it could easily set a precedent for future international search dealings.
AOL has negotiated a deal with Google to allow AOL advertisers to target only the AOL audience. Hmm. I wonder if this is a new tactic we can expect to see elsewhere or a one-time-only deal?
Google has added the ability to use Checkout to ship internationally. New tags in the API allow for the shipping and taxing of international orders. More details are available in the release notes. Was it as quiet a Friday for you as it was for me? We hope you have an excellent weekend… and we'll see on you Monday!
