In addition to today's Internet Marketing Monitor coverage, we felt these stories were worth pulling out of the multitude of news items for April 12, 2007:

Don't you hate having your content scraped?  Doesn't it irritate you when other people swipe your content and try to make money off of it?  The folks at SoloSEO have decided to create a public, searchable index of content-stealing domains.  Will it keep those domains from scraping your content?  No.  But it could help report, block, and otherwise curtail those on the list.  So if you've got a domain or two that you know scrapes content, stop by and submit it to their list.Headlines of Note

icon_star.png  Google's Search Share up 10%, Increasing Source of Traffic for Key Categories  [Hitwise]

Google continues to gain market share in search (some are predicting upwards of 65% in the US very soon).  Hitwise data also shows that Google continues to be an increasingly powerful driver of traffic for certain industries.  For example, almost 30% of the traffic to wesbites classified as "Health and Medical" comes from Google.  comScore released some numbers a few days ago that also showed Google's market share up… with almost every other search engine taking a hit.

icon_star.png  News From Inside AdSense  [Inside AdSense]

Google announced regular, weekly postings that deal with AdSense policy, questions, etc.  The first of those posts looks at traffic exchange programs.  Google is going on record against such programs citing increased instances of click fraud and other "invalid activity".  More details are available in the post from Inside AdSense.

icon_star.png  Your Landing Page Design is Wasted With No Call-to-Action  [The Lonely Marketer]

Your ads are stellar.  Your landing page design is top notch.  But visitors aren't converting the way you think they should.  What's wrong?  You might not inspiring your visitors to convert!  Patrick Schaber says it better than I could:  "Text and graphics are important - don’t get me wrong - you very much need to attract and engage. What happens next is the tough part. You have even less time to convince the prospect to accept your call-to-action and proceed to the next step in your sales process. The important call-to-action starts with the ad and is reinforced on the landing page."  He's absolutely right.

I can't believe it's almost the weekend again?!  I hope you're enjoying the quiet week as much as I am.  Don't forget to follow all of the SES NY coverage as it unfolds at Search Engine Roundtable and Pandia Search Engine News.

Thanks! Likewise, I read your site to find things to include in the daily headlines (or as a regular post).

That’s why I like your site! You do a great job of throughly covering the things you write about and that makes for awesome stuff to pass along to our readers.

Thanks again for the kind words!
