I’m a fan of eBay, and not just because I can find every rare, odd collectible under the sun there. I’m a fan of eBay’s business practices. They’re a smart company that often gets over-shadowed by bigger, more flashy companies like Google.

Today I’ve got a prime example of exactly why I like eBay:

TechCrunch has screenshots, video, and a brief write-up on eBay’s new “ToGo” embeddable widgets. I think these bad boys are a great idea! I can think of many ways to use one of these in a dozen different forms. They look nice, they add a real functionality to the eBay service, and they add value to what eBay has to offer.

On the other hand, TechCrunch also mentions Google’s decision to re-brand its personalized services under the iGoogle moniker. iGoogle? Are you kidding me? What the hell is going on with that name?

The Good: eBay’s ToGo widgets

The Bad: iGoogle

The Ugly: The confusion of people who think Apple has bought Google
