Today’s map-related announcements just keep rolling in:

Of course… Where 2.0 wouldn’t have anything to do with that… now would it? Where 2.0 is a conference built around all things location-related. Maps, location-aware technology, and everything in between meet at Where 2.0. The two-day conference continues until tomorrow… so expect more announcements.

Why would Internet marketers be interested in thinks like MapQuest and Where 2.0?

Simple: your presence in these mapping services is becoming more and more important. Clearly directories, maps, and local searches have always been important. But as these announcements should demonstrate, these companies aren’t play around with this technology - they’re taking it mainstream.

Probably more than ever it’s so important to make sure your business is listed in the major mapping services and local search providers. If you haven’t done so recently, spend a little time this week checking, updating, and adding your listings.

These services just keep getting cooler and cooler. As they become more a part of our lives, people will spend more time with them. Make sure they can find you.
