Internet Marketing Monitor

About

The Internet Marketing Monitor
The Internet Marketing Monitor was originally created primarily as a storehouse for an ever-expanding collection of internet marketing notes. Instead of a long, unmanageable list of bookmarks and a mass of sticky notes, the Internet Marketing Monitor was born to provide an easy to use and expandable space for internet marketing gems of all varieties. Matt Edward, the Internet Marketing Monitor’s founder, decided he needed to create something accessible and continually updating to cover the industry he’d been a part of for so long. But the Internet Marketing Monitor quickly evolved into much more than just an online collection of notes. In a short time span, the Internet Marketing Monitor has grown to include hundreds of articles authored by it’s growing staff of writers. We’ve expanded beyond our original coverage of search engines and generalized marketing into a variety of industries, including, but not limited to, mobile, blogging, and emerging media.

The Internet Marketing Monitor aims to provide the most up-to-date news, information, commentary, opinion, and help available online to those who venture into the realm of Internet marketing. By monitoring a constant stream of news feeds and wires, we keep readers updated on the important information in our industry (hence the name Internet Marketing Monitor).

And we do it all on a dedicated, full-time basis. Unlike a lot of blogs on the subject, the Internet Marketing Monitor isn’t a side project or personal blog. It’s manned by a fully staffed, paid writing team with a diverse set of backgrounds and experiences. That’s why the Internet Marketing Monitor is updated continuously throughout the day, five days a week.

The People Behind the Internet Marketing Monitor
Matt Cook (Contact Matt)
Editor, Opinion, and Marketing StrategistAfter years of wading through bookmarks, Springfield, Missouri entreprenuer Matt had an idea. Inspired by seroundtable.com, he decided to create a single, public forum for the storage and organization of his massive collection of internet marketing notes, ideas, and techniques. He decided to create a blog to serve his purpose - something for the entire community to benefit from. After all, they’d helped him so much in the past. There was only one problem: Matt can’t write.

Matt has been working with businesses to increase their online presence for more than a decade. He has successfully built numerous online businesses and helped others further boost their online potential.

Based on a firm set of principles, Matt’s examination of the Internet marketing world is unique in it’s honesty. No affiliations… no social circles. Just honest, unbiased commentary and examination. He’s not afraid to call his “best friends” out when they make a mistake. And he’s not afraid to praise competitors when they do something right.

Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems.

Derick Phillips (Contact Derick)
News & Press, Commentary, and Ghost WriterThe transformation of Matt’s knowledge and ideas into something consumable by internet surfers fell to Derick. Also from Springfield, he entered the picture as a ghost writer to take Matt’s ideas and turn them into a blog. Derick also serves as the Internet Marketing Monitor’s general writer and covers the news of the day, including new product announcements, press releases, and general commentary.

Derick has been writing online in some form or fashion for almost a decade. Although computer science didn’t work for him as a degree, he has continued to be involved with and follow the technology/Internet sector.

After spending time working in the mental health field, Derick returned to his true passion: writing.

In addition to the Internet Marketing Monitor, he has also been writing on his personal blog for almost three years.

Derick holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

Mandy LeAnne (Contact Mandy)
Communication Theory & “The Female Perspective”Mandy brings years of experience and education in communication theory and writing to the Internet Marketing Monitor table. While you can never predict exactly what will catch her eye, and thus her commentary, Mandy plans to focus primarily on the effectiveness, deployment, and utilization of various modes of communication used by Internet companies and services.

And as the Internet Marketing Monitor’s only female writer, you’ll see a different perspective from Mandy’s writing.

Mandy spent two years reporting for the Daily American Republic and a year as Editor-in-Chief of the Southwest Standard - a regional newspaper with a circulation of 13,000. She currently helps author numerous websites on a broad variety of topics.

Mandy holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a Master’s degree in Communication Theory.

Andy Allen (Contact Andy)
The Philosophical & Anecdotal PerspectiveAndy brings a passion for writing to Internet Marketing Monitor team. And while his topics of choice are a little harder to predict, you can count on one thing: a unique perspective.

Andy often approaches a topic from the philosophical, rather than technological, perspective… and he loves analogies.

Andy has been writing on various mediums for a number of years. Before joining the Internet Marketing Monitor, Andy was the editor of a local newspaper with a circulation of 1,000. He currently co-authors a number of websites on a broad variety of topics.

Andy’s education is still a work in progress. But we have faith in his ability to see it through to the end.
